Incorporating Art Deco

My latest era obsession, here's how and what to incorporate.

One of my favorite designed stores, the Toteme Flagship in Stockholm

In my home, I lean into Art Deco through thoughtful details: a statement mirror with metal and etching details, and touches of black and gold that nod to the era’s signature palette. I love mixing vintage finds with more contemporary pieces that share Deco's sculptural quality—lighting with geometric arms, coffee tables with waterfall edges, and accessories in crystal or onyx.

That same spirit spills into my closet, too. I gravitate toward pieces with strong lines, structured tailoring, and rich textures—think silk blouses with dramatic sleeves, tailored trousers, and jewelry that features bold shapes or Deco-inspired patterns. I love the confidence that comes with these silhouettes; they feel timeless but never boring, a balance that Art Deco mastered and I always try to channel. Below a beloved clutch from my grandmother I find endless outfits to pair with.

Here are a few pieces that embody the bold geometry, striking materials, and timeless silhouettes of Art Deco. This design era has always captivated me for its ability to be both ornate yet disciplined. The sharp symmetry, stepped forms, and use of high-contrast materials like lacquered wood, brass, and marble bring a sense of drama that still feels elegant and modern today.

As you can see I’ve tried out a new format for sharing my favorites, let me know your thoughts!
